The other day, I was sorting through my old things and I found this old manuscript. It belongs to a series of books I wrote from high school to college. This particular book is called Your Friend, Andy, which looks into the diary of a gay high school student caught in a tug-of-war between his sexuality and his faith. As I read it, I was struck by two nagging thoughts: how much it needed to editing and how incredibly timely it was. The struggles I saw around me six plus years ago were now more applicable than ever! That just goes to show you: real, honest fiction will carry, and keep your old works. You never know when you’ll want breathe new life into them.
I look forward to tackling this work with an fresh perspective. Stay tuned: God willing, I’ll have it up on Amazon (yes, that Amazon) later this year.
