I currently serve as the interim youth pastor for a church in Western North Carolina. The interim steps in and helps in the absence of an official youth pastor. In the past three years, we have been through three. We have just hired our fourth.
All three- and myself- were good men. All three- and myself- helped heal old wounds and breathe new life into the ministry. All three- and myself- did things which stabbed a knife deep into the workings of the heart of God.
My takeaway is that we are all fine and finite creatures. We all have moments of brilliance and epic lapses of judgement. This is true for everyone, not just church staff. Best step is to admit it all-the good, the bad, and the ugly- and turn it over to God. He always is able to do a mighty work with our mess and once again prove He is God and we are not. Praise the Lord!
Will you give Him your life now too and see what He can do with it?
